2. Double-click the ExpressNet Suite icon located on the CD.
3. Follow the installation directions.

TROUBLESHOOTING
• Networking
Earthlink's TotalAccess installation procedure included on this CD-ROM is not recommended for those on a network or using an ISDN line.
• User Names
If you are having trouble entering a user name for Earthlink TotalAccess, make sure you are using no capital letters and no punctuation.
• Existing Bookmark File
Netscape does not allow you to have two separate bookmark files at the same time.
If you do not have existing bookmarks, the installation program will install the Ultimate Bookmark file we have provided. If you have existing bookmarks, the program will keep your file.
If you would like to keep your current file and add our new bookmarks, do the following:
Complete the installation.
Then, when you are running Netscape:
Go to the "Window" menu option; choose "Bookmarks" and then
From the Bookmark window, choose "File" and then "Import."
From the dialog box, choose the CD-ROM drive, the MAC directory and then the Total Access directory. Then double click on bookmark.htm.
This will merge your current bookmark file with the new one we have included.
• Open Transport 1.1 Issues
When installing Earthlink's Total Access software, the connection method for TCP/IP (Open Transport) may not be set correctly. If you are having problems connecting to Earthlink, and you are using Open Transport 1.1, try the following. Open the control panel using the Apple menu. Open the TCP/IP control panel and check the "Connect Via" setting. It should be set to FreePPP.
Some newer PowerPC Macintosh models (i.e.:7200) which ship with System 7.5.2 installed will not work with the FreePPP dialer, because they use Open Transport 1.0.6. To fix this, you must upgrade to System 7.5.3. We have included the entire Apple upgrade kit on this disc. You will find it in the folder "MAC: System 7.5.3 Upgrade." You may elect to install only the Open Transport 1.1 software, listed under Networking Software, when you do a Custom Install. However, it is recommended that you perform the entire system upgrade, using Easy Install. Before you reinstall TotalAccess, you should delete other PPP programs from the Extensions folder.
VocalTec will make available a beta Macintosh version of Internet Phone in April, 1996. For your convenience, we have made a bookmark to link you to a site where you can download the software for free. To do this, launch Netscape, then, under the "Bookmarks" menu option, choose the Internet Phone bookmark. Once your browser reaches the correct Web page, follow the instructions for downloading Internet Phone.
Although you do not need to be running Netscape Navigator in order to run Internet Phone, you must be logged on to EarthLink Network. To operate Internet Phone, dial into Earthlink using the Dialer program, then click on Internet Phone.

• Total Access Installation/ Replacing Previous versions:
If you have a previous version of Earthlink's TotalAccess and/or Netscape on your computer, it is advisable to remove them before installation of the software on this disc. To do so, go into the preferences file in your system folder and remove the Netscape and TotalAccess Folders and/or files. Once this is done, ExpressNet Suite will correctly install the latest versions of TotalAccess and Netscape.
• Running ExpressNet Suite on Mac - Fonts
If the text on your screen is boxy looking, hard to read, and/or appears to run off the screen, you may have a conflict between the fonts loaded on your system and the fonts ExpressNetSuite uses. To solve this problem, first locate the fonts folder in the system folder on your hard disk. Make sure you are in View by Icon mode (from main menu, select View/by Icon). Then look for fonts (typeface files) called Helvetica. Some may be bitmapped fonts (indicated by a single capital letter "A" on the file) and others may be TrueType fonts (indicated by 3 "A"s on the file). Remove the bitmapped fonts from the system folder and the program should run fine.
• System asking for ExpressNet Suite
If you abort during installation and then find the system asking for the ExpressNet Suite program, restart your computer holding down the shift key. Then delete the ExpressNet Launcher in the Startup group in the Preferences folder.
• SurfWatch Documentation
SurfWatch documentation is included on this CD-ROM under the SurfWatch directories under the Mac or Win directories. They are named as follows: SWatch31.pdf for Windows 3.1, SWatch95.pdf for Windows 95, and SWatchma.pdf for MacIntosh. To view these documents, download the Acrobat reader from the Plugins section of the ExpressNet Suite program. Then doubleclick on the appropriate document.
